Swing Profile is invented by Dr. Zeke Chan, PhD, MBA, ME, BMus, BE, who is also the Founder and CEO of the company. Renowned for his work in Artificial Intelligence, Neurocomputing and Image Processing; Dr. Chan is listed in the Marquis Who’s Who and widely recognized as a leading influencer in his fields of expertise. As an avid golfer, this is what Dr. Chan has to say about his inspiration to invent Swing Profile;

“Whenever I pick up the Golf Digest magazine I’d always turn to the long ‘swing sequence’ page and look at those graceful swing pictures of professional players. Studying swing sequence is a great way to improve your golf and I really wanted to make my own swing sequence. However I didn’t want to depend on someone else to film my swing at the driving range and then spend the rest of my evenings editing the video!

Thus my journey began in 2009 to find a technology that instantly extracts swing sequence from live video. There was nothing in the market so I have to invent one. In addition, to make this technology accessible to all golfers, it must also work on mobile phones so that it is convenient for golfers to analyze their swings anytime and anywhere.

In Jan 2012, my wife Tracy and I took the prototype of “Swing Profile” to PGA Show 2012. The crowd was amazed and we subsequently won the “Best Overall Product” and “Best Market Research” award. After the show we worked hard to transfer the technology onto mobile phones, literally squeezing out every single ounce of computing power out of that little device!

Today I am happy to present to you “Swing Profile” iPhone app. Point the iPhone camera at the golfer – yourself or others – and you will see the swing sequence magically appears. In addition, there are many never-seen-before features such as “dual sync” which synchronizes two different swings, and “auto line” which automatically draws the shaft line and measures the angle.

I also want to make the game of golf enjoyable for all golfers and this is only possible if everyone play to his/her best
